Two reasons are (a) AOL is much less unfriendly than Hotmail, Gmail,
whatever MS calls theirs and several others I won't bother to list. (b) as a mail
manager, the software is much more efficient for handling and filing large
numbers of emails. All other mail managers I've ever tried are in this
regard just clones of Outlook. Quite inefficient, but I don't normally mention
any of this on any of these lists.
And in any case, why someone uses it is none of your business. When you
start paying my bills, you can have a say so.
