[ARC5] AM and SSB Use

When I graduated High School in 1974 I got a job as a test technician at a radio manufacturer in Huntington Station, NY that built HF-SSB marine radios. I worked in final test and part of my job was making sure the radios were configured with the customer specified channels and it actually worked on all those channels. Even in 1974 the Coast Guard was still using AM in the 2 MHz. band as were many coastal stations in the Gulf. The local marine operators were also still using AM on 2 MHz.
