[ARC5] BC-348 Franken-Fied

Very interesting.  It seems that the USAF, and others were able to 
continue with AM longer that civil aviation, I recall listening to USAF 
Global stations in the late 50's and early 60's and they were on SSB.   
Andrews Airways (AAFB) was only a short distance from where we lived.  
Also, in the movie Strategic Air Command, Jimmy Stewart's B-36's could 
be seen with the ARC-8 set-up.  You have to be quick to see it, but they 
scan by the radio op's position at a few points.  Our CAP Wing sometimes 
got rides with the 459th TCW (at the time).  I recall the ARC-27 
installation and how the crew chief had to sync the control boxes.  I 
don't recall the HF set-up, though, but  know they had to have had one.  
On the Navy aircraft, were they on the large panel/operating area on the 
back-side of the cockpit area? That's where a lot of stuff was....?
