[ARC5] PS Hum in BC-453-B (solved!)

Hi,
It's hard to imagine how this thread has lasted. I posted my results
going to an all battery DC power supply that still exhibits very slight
hum to point out that the AC supplies may not be the entire source of
hum. virtually all of the posts reinforced the same thing. I did get
relief by using batteries and I will probably continue that. But I am
also going to "improve" my AC driven power supplies. So far I have not
disassembled either of the Q5ers to do anything like shorting a tube pin
to ground. I already have the needed relief so those tiny little screws
are going to stay put until I *must* remove them. Maybe some day that
faint hum that I can only hear when I am not trying to receive will have
to go. But not today.
Moving on to the antenna connector...
