Funny you should ask: I have been trying to buy a good Gonset Super 6 or 
Super 12 for a couple of years now for that very purpose, so far without 
much success: they get snapped up before I get to them.

Good. They are excellent converters

Well, although I have not YET done it, I would expect it to work very well 
indeed. The only real trouble with the idea is that BC band "ARC-5" receivers 
which have not been hacked to smithereens are very hard to find.

In fact, I have 5 such. I am hoping to be able to build at least one working 
one out of the horrible hacks I have.
