[ARC5] The ARC 5 repackaged - heresy or hot rod tinkering?

Agreed - I have a tale of two RX - both the LF beacon receiver that has the additional antenna connections for the loop.

Version1 is the newer production with the plastic wiring - its missing the filter cap and the two filter inductors but Im getting functional for an IF.  It looks pretty stock from the outside - I repaired the dynamotor mount pins after picking up a pack of them off the auction site. 


The Version 2 RX though is pretty banged up but does have all the coils, tubes, etc but had the dynamotorshock mounts removed, the chassis is dinged up - so it can contribute fill in parts to the more pristine RX.  That newer RX has the ceramic lids on the flower pot caps.

But, that RX is my candidate to repackage for a tuneable IF to add down converters and play with
and keep just about all the left over parts for spares for my more stock units.

IMHO, if it's already been drilled and hacked, 
"anything goes" (with the exception of authentically 
rare sets;  I'd do a lot of "back and fill" for an RAV :-)
