Great info Mike. Bill's attention to detail on his L-5 is right up there and
he loves to learn as much as he can about this stuff. I am sure he
appreciates your info and help.

Roy has what looks like the exact connector in his collection. Photos here:

Now if we can just locate one for Bill and his L-5. Hopefully it's the same
one Roy found at Oldradioparts.

Thank you all for your help!

Odd...I could swear that the photo at the above URL changed between the two
times I looked at it. :-)

I don't know a source for such a plug.

With such attention to detail, I'm sure your friend is aware that the
receiver is not a common BC-1206-C (S-C Model 524, 28 vdc), but rather the
rarer R-76/ARR-13 (S-C Model 512, 14vdc, 250 vdc). The AN/ARR-13 was
required on 14 vdc aircraft and got its HV from the AVA-126 power supply
that the AVR-20-A1 HF receiver used. The AN/ARR-13 manual explicitly
describes the modification of the AVA-126 for this. This receiver has only
two conductors at its phone plug, so as you suggest the third lead into the
phone connector must be strain relief.

The photo is interesting for showing the antenna switch between the two
receivers.
