I have a friend who until he described it to me Sunday thought that he had
a single receiver rack for one of the Command Set variants. He called me
today after getting back home to NJ and described it while actually looking at
it.

The nameplate says A.R.C. and E-15. On the front, it says 28 VDC (or
equivalent). The sheet metal looks basically like an MT-7/ARR-2 except that it
is gray wrinkle instead of black. It has the single 7-pin male connector
mounted in the center of the front of the box on the back. And it has the two
hold-down links at the front. Any WW-II vintage ARA, SCR-274-N or AN/ARC-5
receiver will plug into it. So would an A.R.C. R-32. That's where the
similarity stops, though. No audio line switch and pair of headset jacks on the
front. Nothing mounted on the left side of the box. Instead of one plug
to mate with PL-152 plus a fuse holder on the top of the box, it has two
8-pin keyed connectors. Presumably, you could plug a PL-152 into either one of
them as it has no key. Between the two connectors is a chassis mount BNC
jack.

Anyone know what it is? Anyone have any paper on it? The only thing that
I have on the Type 15 is a Type 15D navigation set manual, plus several
AN/ARN-30 manuals. The only mounts shown in those are E-13 and E-14, both of
which are dual racks.

The friend wants to put a working R-26 or R-27 into it, which I've told him
that he can probably do. But it would help to have the schematic. And if
anyone out there wants an E-15, I'm sure that he would swap it for an MT-7.
