Absolutely! Descriptions and photos need close inspection, and ask
plenty-o-questions. But what Dave said is true, and I'd expand it to the
internet in general: I've found and certainly SEEN a lot of items I'd have
never had the opportunity to get or see if not for the 'net. Got some good
deals in the newsgroups years ago and found plenty of items on ebay as well
as private deals on the 'net.
As to J Mcvey's earlier post preferring to spend money on a K3, KX3 or
whatever - good for you! That's what makes the hobby so appealing for so
many folks with different interests. And as you've probably seen, the
people who spend their money for the MD-7s and other items don't mind, and
will probably be just as happy to have one less person competing. Some
folks have more money to burn, others have a deeper interest and desire,
still others balance it against other things. Different strokes...
I can remember paying, without hesitation, $250 or $275 plus shipping from
Oz in 2002 for an apparently NOS MD-7 & mount from a list member and
thinking it was a lot of money for any ARC-5 item. I also remember opening
the box, unwrapping it, and being so thankful that I had. (Thanks again,
Brian!)
