A bit off subject, but, in the 60's I visited a store called Ham Shack Electronics in Miami, Fl that had all sorts of surplus stuff.
Being a nerdy teenage ham then I spent a lot of time looking thru all the neat WWII surplus stuff. When we left I ended up
with a bunch of 813's, a rack mounted transmitter, without the rack, with a 811 modulator and a nice power supply for $20.
The guy there even boxed everything up for me so it would be ready for transporting back to Tennessee. This was the basis
for my first grounded grid amplifier.
