Jim,

The FT-310 (and the equivalent ones for ARA and AN/ARC-5) were used to 
supply LV and HV to auxiliary equipment like ZB, AN/ARR-1, LM, TS-164/AR, etc.

The two additional antenna input posts are for a DF loop.  The extra knob 
controls a switch to select either Hi-Z antenna or Lo-Z Loop.
