[ARC5] BC-230 / BC-430 coil set mod for 80m

In the two days since I posted on this topic, Tim WA8LHB and I have spent
hours
and hours consulting on the wiring and circuit diagrams and marking them up
with
capacitors to show where they should go.

All of that work will be moot if the modification doesn't work
satisfactorily.

I'm currently opening up my BC-AO-230 and will clip or solder a FET across
the
oscillator tube socket and power it up on 12 VDC with the unmodified C-381
coil
set. Hopefully the transformers will withstand 12 VDC and the capacitors
won't
leak excessively.

If the oscillator works and tunes 2500-3200 OK, I'll add a modification
capacitor
and keep changing its value until say, 3300-4000 is achieved.

I'd like to pay tribute to Tim for his interest and help in marking up the
diagrams,
which is still continuing. Tim has been very patient, despite my lapses of
clarity
over the positioning of the capacitors at times.
