The "rules of the road" in my instance required no modifications
to the radio that are not 100% reversable to original
so I did not consider things like rewinding tanks, etc.
I picked tubes that were cheap and robust and left the math
to the many people smarter than me. With minor tweaks,
they worked well so IMHO "if it ain't broke don't fix it" ;-)
The exception is the 30-meter set. I had a PA/ANT coil
damaged beyond reasonable repair, so rewound it for 10 MC.
I know the "smarter" folks will do better, even within those
"rules of the road" if they put their minds to it and
I look forward to reading of their efforts.
