I must admit that I didn't look at the advertised receiver (28 - 41 MHz).

All of my comments were based on Ken's description of his battle with
getting his set to cover 28 - 30 MHz, and assumed the advertised Brit
set covered the same band. Please ignore my comments about what
the Brits may have done. The Brits might indeed, as John Rose suggests,
have taken turns off the coils.

However, I stand by my description of the series capacitor as a proper
way to raise the frequency dramatically, and to get to the 28 - 30 MHz
band, albeit with experimentation.
