[ARC5] Carbon Microphone Inquiry

Cathode driven 6J5 carbon mic input circuit, haven't run into one of those in a while.
On mics, many different models of the T-17 were made, all have been showing their age for some time now, some still work great but a lot more don't work at all any more. Am not familiar with the Telephonics units. Best bet for your Stancor, though, would be one of the widely available Motorola hand microphones used for many years in Taxis, Police cars, etc, see eBay 271380451592 for a somewhat overpriced example. These units will work plugged directly into most carbon mic circuits and sound great. Turn up regularly at flea markets too.
