[ARC5] "Curing Chirp in Command Transmitters"

In regards to the cathode and filament circuit in the VFO of the ARC-5 tube.
It would appear that the circuit was originally designed for a directly heated cathode tube and
they decided to go with the 1626 instead but not changing the initial design. It would
be nice to hear about the actual history of the transmitter's development. However, it is very
unlikely anyone with first hand knowledge is still around.
I have found that reminiscences of older preliminary designs are retained even though they don't
perform any useful function in the final product.
