Thanks for the FYI. When I started reading  “… the BC-230 has several
components that will not be used and which should be discarded…” I thought
here is another surplus exenteration. Then, I cringed at the thought of
discarding the VT-25’s and VT-52’s at today’s prices. But, this article
does have some value in revealing the author’s design thought process of
1963, although I felt lost on some of his ideas. He also provides examples
of possible tube substitutes in addition to those David has used. Thanks
for posting this resource, Terry. I think I will look a few issues ahead
for reader’s feedback and errata.
