Subject: Re: [ARC5] Help Needed

Hi Joel,

Last March at an estate auction I was able to buy a Very nice BC-348R that
had been fixed up and converted to AC by a real craftsman, the retired chief
engineer from station WBT. It came with what is apparently the dynamotor
from which the filter box for the AC supply was taken, a DM-28-J. It has
some rust on the outside of the frame but the labels and the interior are
nice. The guy even left the four mounting screws in the mounting bracket.
I cleaned and regreased the bearings in March and it sounded and ran OK then
but not perfectly. When I saw your email yesterday I went over to the
shelf, got the dyno and tried it out. It sounded too noisy so I cleaned the
bearings again this morning and regreased it. Now it sounds like a normal
WW II dynamotor (well, except for the SCR-522 dynos, whose sound is like
music to my ears - but that's another story) and produces 225V with 24.5V @
.75A input, no load.

To make this long story short, send me your address and I'll pack up the
dynamotor and send it to you, no charge. I'll never use it and you will so
it belongs with you. Early Black Friday gift.
