Do you mean the Broadcast transmitters?
The leads certainly are long.  I've had not trouble
with pwr/modulation on 40 mtrs with WWII stuff.
Osc. stability on some rigs is an issue 
but my 274N and ARC-5 sets do fine.

No more complicated than that.

to adorn their pointy heads.  No charge.

I must admit- reviving a BCB transmitter and 
warming some ether with it would be fun.
But I don't know where I'd put the thing.
