I bought my LM-7 at a ham swap meet in 1982. I had just found a new mated UG-88 connector pair for 25 cents at the same seller and felt obligated to make a show of looking around before handing them a quarter. Then, under something, in the box they always put under the table, filled with stuff they really don't want to take home, I found the LM-7, marked 50 cents. I handed them 75 cents, grabbed the connector and LM and ran away, half expecting to hear sirens approaching.

I powered it up at home and it worked, too. And received KNX radio, a half mile away. Of course, EVERYTHING received KNX. I think you could have gotten it on an electric toothbrush.

By the way, someone on e-bay has a TS-175C/U for sale for $29.95 Buy It Now. I guess it is like a BC-221 but is VHF.
