[ARC5] Silicone Tape

There are several brands of self-vulcanizing tape that I know of, sold (and house branded) by wholesale fastener companies like Kar Products, Kimball Midwest, etc. I would imagine that you could find such a product in automotive stores or better hardware stores.

Is plain ol' friction tape, aka "monkey tape" no longer available? I haven't looked for any in a long time.

Scotch 33 "premium service' electrical tape is as good as electrical tape gets.

I have been working to replace the
master switch in my airplane and found that they used
friction tape to cover where the ring terminals mate to the
switch.  This was a wise precaution to prevent shorts,
but I don't have any friction tape, don't know where you
could buy any, and I am unimpressed with the "electrical
tape" I have found - it's not very sticky and probably would
 fall off.

I am using heat shrink tubing for the two smaller ring
terminals (the switch is an AN3023-2 DPST) but for the big
ones I have not found any of the tubing that is large
 enough.

Do y'all recommend that silicone tape that sticks only to
itself?  I think I have a small roll of that from Radio
 Shack.

 Thanks,
