The top cover for an ARC-5 reciver is "large", but I have also done whole
RAL cabinets too.

Hmmm.....well....let me think about that for a bit. The first thing that comes to
my mind about that method is that the amount and consistency of any
wrinkle paint applied by that method would be too thin and possibly not
contain all the necessary ingredients to get a good wrinkle.
To get a good wrinkle, the paint has to be thicker than normal.
I have found that I get far better results by stripping all the old paint off and
completely repainting the whole piece.
Those times I have touched up wrinkle paint in areas under 1/4" in size,
(usually under 1/8" in size in fact) I have used flat black model paint with
good effect. The differences aren't very noticable. But the paint had to be
flat-black, not gloss black. Gloss-black sticks out like a sore thumb.
