You might want to try VHT "Wrinkle Plus" paint. I get my stocks of it
at Advance Auto. I've been using it for a few years, now, and have been
very satisfied. The texture, as others point out, is a function of
number of initial coats. My proven procedure is to first heat the item
in an oven to get the volitile to rapidly dissipate (thereby allowing
subsequent initial coats and prevent/minimize any running) and then
quickly into the oven. I bake for about 25 minutes at 200 deg. F to get
a uniform curing. Heat is the key, I must emphasize. For ARC-5 and
BC-348 cabinets, etc. I use but one fairly goos coat. More paint, and
the wrinkle is too deep. If the XYL is hesitant, after all's finished,
I simply run the oven up to about 450 deg for maybe 10-15 minutes. Any
trace of paint smell or residue is gone. As for the kitchen... an open
window for a few minutes helps. The thing is, you DO want a good
wrinkle, don't you????? Hi!!
