The receiver dynamotors have the two fields connected in series across the
28V input terminals. Back around 1978 I disassembled one and considered
rewiring the fields in parallel to permit better operation at 12-14V. I
never got around to doing it, so can't report whether 12-14V operation was
improved or not. It would have been a very simple mod because the
interconnecting wire was readily accessible.
