IO had a similar experience at W&P Show some years ago.

Prices drop as the show goes on, if items don't sell.

I saw something on Witham 's stall I thought would be interesting, so 
made an offer of £10 and was told to get lost!
Next day, the last, I again looked and got 3 of them for £5!!
