If he had been been telling me that story the first thing I'd think is "BS, he's a troll looking for a reaction." They'd have made much more money off the warehouse full than they'd ever make waiting for their own small quantity to appreciate.

A buyer for one item I sold on ebay - the original manual for an R-388, I think
it was - told me that he knew of a couple guys who discovered a warehouse full
of WWII vintage radio equipment that was going to be sold off or destroyed. But
they figured that the stuff they already had would be worth more if there was
less of it, so they let it all be scrapped.
So I guess you have a half dozen BC-611's and a warehouse with 200 of them NIB
is discovered, you'd rather they be scrapped than have the value of yours go
down when the market gets flooded. Funny, the way some people think.
Me, I'd rather buy them for $1 each and give them away than let them be
scrapped.
