There is no need to change any of that. In fact, since the receivers are later 
models, the IF cans and coil-sets are improved a bit over the earlier models. 
For one thing, they are made of better materials.

No changes are necessary other than changing the tuning capacitor...as long 
as you use the correct one. MF for MF, BC band for BC band.

If you want to add a BFO, it is only a little more of a job. The Type 12s had 
no BFOs, but had a noise limiter instead. For ham uses, the NL is not 
particularly useful.
