That sounds like that Littlefield guy - his gigantic vehicle collection is going up for auction in a few weeks. Search on Auctions America Littlefield. There is a link on amfone.net re the auction. Littlefield passed away a few years ago and this is apparently the estate aucton, boy did he leave a lot of stuff for his wife to get rid of! One of the items is a mid 60 APC has a nice GRC19 in it...

Subject: [ARC5] Tanks and Radios
At the very first monthly TRW Swap Meet I ever attended, back circa 1982, the
radio club was auctioning off various donated items. Or trying to, anyway; for
most items they held it up and there was naught but the sound of crickets. I
recall they gave away an SCR-283 receiver for free to some sub-teenager and I
bought a WWII vintage TS-34 scope for $1.00
They held up a receiver from the SCR-608 or 628 sets. Crickets. Then from the
back of the crowd came, "I'll buy it for $10.00!"
Everyone turned to look at the obvious nutjob. He then said, "I'm trying to get
as many as I can! I collect tanks."
This produced a number of people saying that they might be able to part with
their precious SCR-608 equipment for such a worthy cause - for the right price,
which was probably in the $5 range.
He collects full sized, real, tanks. Whenever I think of my radio hobby and
wonder if I have gone too far, I think about that.
