Well, both were replaced. The correct one for the 1625 is a three hole type with elongated slots on the mounting bracket. It barely fits, but it seems to work OK. The original sockets were cut just enough to allow the new socket to poke through. The "perpetrator" used a snap ring to hold the octal in place.
Let me know if you have the right one and how much you want for it.
Thanks
Jim

Jim,
The medium 7-pin socket was made in both bakelite and ceramic and my
database says I have some of both. But database doesn't say whether they are
keyed hole and circlip mount or mounted with two screws and thus quite a bit
wider. And I apparently haven't looked at them since 1999 and don't remember.
I can look if I can find them.
Do I understand correctly that only one of the two 1625 xockets was
stripped and an octal installed? Is it single hole or screw mounted (3 holes)?
