One carbon path between the pins:
I'm finding things like this more often these days.
Just had an SCR-183 dynamotor HV pin burn-through 
the bakelite to the ground pin.
Bakelite takes-up water.  That's what makes the old
"big pin" plugs like PL-61 get stuck in their metal sheath.
I've been successful baking-out the water to free them.
