A caution: make very sure of the polarity when connecting electrolytics.
I once built an audio amplifier of the push pull transistor type, and
connected it to
my car battery for testing.
Nothing happened for a minute or two, then the innards of one of the
electrolytics
exploded out from one end and the contents hit the garage door with great
force.
I could have easily lost an eye.
