HI Dave –
As mentioned a while ago, I obtained a nice SCR-183 TX/RX a few months ago
with full tube compliment; weather the tubes are good or not remain to be
seen. In the interim I’ve managed to get NOS TX and RX control boxes as
well as (what I hope) is an acceptable junction box.
So, yes I care, and I’m delighted that you’ve spent the time on this issue
that will benefit the rest of us and keep these radios on the air. I had
no idea that the TX had those expensive tubes in it before I bought it, but
as they say, I couldn’t pass the radio up for the price! Amazing what
lurks in the back of airplane hangers for decades!
