Look for the manual for the SCR-183/283 sets.  That's the one you need.

 90% of the time, whether the set you are looking for
 information on belonged 
 to Signal Corps, Navy, Naval Air or AAF, any manual on it
 will be found under 
 the nomenclature of the next level set or equipment that it
 belonged to. 
 The main exceptions that come to mind are the BC-348/224,
 the BC-312 family, 
 I'll guess about half of the test equipment, and the short
 list of WW-II 
 radio Basic Components for which Repair Manuals were done.
