[ARC5] BC-455-B on Craigslist

Yes that receiver has been around the block, and it wasn't a good neighborhood!
Wrong screws and missing ones always give me pause unless I can inspect it .
I don't know how much effort KU8H wants to put into this, but it definitely needs a look inside.

Notice the two screws in the rear are missing. I believe that is where the B+ choke is supposed to be.

I have a junker that doesn't look too bad on the exterior but the entire insides were more or less gutted and tinkered into oblivion. I knew what I was getting into though, it was only $2 at a hamfest. The dial, tubes, coils and tuning knob alone were well worth the money. The knob may be the best part of that Craigs list radio too!

Bill, you titled your post "BC-455-B" but in the photos the maker's plate
clearly says BC-454-B and the dial says "3-6".

The maker's plate is fixed on with Phillips cross-head screws - looks a bit
suspicious.
