Mac, I think that the color is an industry standard gray color that
arguably 95% of heavy-metal panels are painted. Narco always had flat
black, as did King and most others. For a short time, ARC/Cessna
300-series radios did have some gray avionic panels to match those years
production of single-engine Cessna piston genav aircraft. Of course,
ARC always had mostly gray. I've got a box of Gables heads and 90% are
black, however,a couple are gray. Our Caravan has gray.
