[ARC5] Unknown control box

Looks easy enough to operate. Set frequency with thumb and forefinger. Thumb should be able to operate mode switch. Aircraft with sophisticated avionics usually
 had heat so gloves not required except maybe Arctic/Antarctic conditions?
 Not a pilot, just guessing.
