[ARC5] BC band BC-453

I got a reply from George concerning the subject receiver: he says that as he 
remembers it, he bought that at some sort of flea market.

He also says the BFO works just fine.

He did mention an article from QST some years ago that detailed how to 
make a BC band receiver out of an LF model.

However, he wasn't sure that was what had been done to this one.

I remember that article, and in fact, have a PDF copy of it here.

What it entailed was removing numbers of turns off the coils in the coil box, 
leaving everything else, including the BFO, alone.

So, what you ended up with was a BC receiver with 85 KHz IFs.

I have never seen such a receiver, although I have seen a BC-453 with the 
BC band IFs, coil box, and BFO substituted.
