[ARC5] muting

This is John, K5ENQ, in Pearland, TX.  I am putting together a T-22/R-23/MD-7 station.  I am "integrating" them into a more transceiver-appearing rig.  I was inspired by the Collins TCH that has a separate Tx & Rx, but put in one box.  I am doing my own control panel that includes extra relays.  I am doing the TR switching in  my own relays (I couldn't get the cosmetics I wanted using the BC-442-A relay).

For muting I am doing the usual switch antenna and ground Rx antenna input.  For volume, I am switching the Rx sensitivity line between a Rx and a Tx sensitivity pot.  So I can have my Tx pot turned almost off and it switches to the normal Rx for receive.  I haven't tested this with the Tx working, as I have yet to complete the HV power supply for the T-22.

I will also state that the T-22 & R-23 I was fortunate enough to get appear pristine and unmodified.  The MD-7 is also in very good shape.  When done here I can unplug/remove the units and use them cabled up as originally used.

John

That’s the BC-442 antenna relay.   I’m using one, but I’ve added a small
SPST switch that I manually flip to close the relay on transmit (instead of
letting it open and close every time I send a dot / dash…..).      Even
with the RX shorted you’ll still need to reduce the Sensitivity.
