I forgot one more thing: I also connected a 0.01 mfd disk ceramic cap directly 
across the key jack in order that both the oscillatore coil and the final amp 
grids were still connected to ground for RF.

One could also install a 0.01 disk ceramic cap at those points from which the 
oscillator coil's ground connection was lifted, and from the R-74s ground 
connection.
