Andy,
I have one APR-4 (possibly no the Y version) that has had heater resistors added alongside the filter caps underneath the chassis. I can’t say if it has such a marking or not since I’m not with it right now.
I have also another APR-4Y that I did use many years ago. It has a lamp cord coming out one of the phone jacks, and I remember running it on house current. The Y version of the radios is supposed to have a transformer for 400 cycles (and maybe up to 1000 cycles) only, so it’s possible that the modification you have is to install a 60 cycle capable transformer. I suggest you inspect the power transformer to see if any markings reveal this.
