OK Ken, no worries - lots of fun....
I listened for Dave as well but No Joy. There were some W5's and even a
few VE3's coming in after 0000Z today so the band was opened up pretty well
with little atmospheric noise. Short skip around here was great earlier.
I cheated a little by using the R-390A at times as 7050 and thereabouts got
pretty crowded. The R-1004/GRC-109 with its 9 Kc wide receiver can be a
challenge if the band is moderately busy (even a little busy!). I also
cheated by using the J-38 key versus the built-in key on the TX. The TX
was sitting on a shelf and hard to get to, but in general its key is pretty
comfortable to use for short QSO's...
Wait 'till next year!
