[ARC5] BC-221 frequency meter

It is not a good idea to use a frequency heterodyne meter like the BC-221
and the LM series as a VFO, because the output is an almost infinite series
of harmonics. If you cut down the drive in an attempt to reduce harmonics,
the oscillator may not start reliably. Perhaps an LPF may help?

I have a spare BC-221-AK that is "caseless", bookless and took a beating in
the past, but seems to work OK. Anyone use one as a VFO? Would capacitive
coupling and an adapter be the best way to drive a crystal-bound TX like a
WRL-680-A?
