Yes. :-) You need to take a close look at the interference and why the pin is misbehaving, but you can normally bring it back into alignment through adroit use of needle nose pliers. Wrap the tips with a layer of electrical tape if you're worried about scratches. There is not a lot of clearance between the OD of the snapslide pin and the ID of the clearance hole, so it doesn't take much to prevent a smooth insertion.

Quite so. The problem is that the gauge of stainless steel used for the
mount was a bit less robust than in most other shock mounts of the
period - it's only about .030" thick. While that saves weight, it does
make it susceptible to impacts at locations other than the reinforced
shock unit locations. Bends in the front lip and long dimension of the
rectangular mount are pretty common, which will raise one side or both
with respect to the front panel of the ARB.
