Maybe I missed it, but which specific transmitters and receivers is he selling?  What frequency ranges?  Ham bands or not?  Seems to me that should make a difference.

  True, some pieces by themselves could bring decent money, but to imply the
  overall value is based on that leaves out the time factor: the time the
  seller would have into splitting up, listing, packing and shipping each
  item individually. IMO you'd need to sell each connector, mount, base, etc
  separately to come close to the asking price. You might get it, but when
  you figure in your time, how much are you really gaining? As well, some
  attraction is lost when it becomes just another dynamotor, just another
  modulator, and so on.

  I'd guess a a more realistic price to be a little less than half - if he's
  lucky.
