[ARC5] Collins 18S-4

Hello Meir,

 

Just been looking around the net as I do at times, and noted your comments
on the Collins 18S-4, and thought I would let you know that I have been
using one now for about 4 years regularly on our AM net, 

in Brisbane Australia.  There is also another one on air just west of
Brisbane by Ken VK4KB.  There is another one ready to go on air when my
friend gets the time, its been tested and works well.

 

I  have several transmitters in use for AM, apart from the 18S-4, which is
my favourite, I also use an ART13, WS19 or 122.  Last Saturday we had 4
ART13 s on air for the net which is held on 7.125 mhz. on Saturdays and
Wednesdays at 0830 Local Brisbane time .2230Z.

 

AM  on the above frequency is so popular these days that its most likely we
can get a contact any time of the day by calling on that frequency, the SSB
stations tend to leave it clear for us.
