Hello all:This might be a little off topic but I thought the ARC-5 list members would be interested.
I was lurking at PPRUNE  (Professional Pilots Rumor NEtwork) following events associated with the missing AirAsia flight and came across this:





The above post about communication priorities reminds me of the story of a tower controller in the Pacific in WW2. 

In the Pacific during WW2 a battle damaged B-29 touched down and the gear collapsed. As the aircraft slid down the runway the tower controller frantically asked if they were requesting medical assistance. The pilot calmly replied " I don't know, i am not done crashing yet!"
