For 80-75 Meters, use a 100 pFd RF "doorknob" cap
between the ANT post and a 50-ohm antenna.
If running 40 meters, use 50 pFd.

The manual for the RCA AVT-23 aircraft transmitter, which
uses a PA output circuit very much like that of the SCR-183,
has an excellent section on this.  They built the series
capacitors into the set and made them switchable.
The color chart specifies for a 50-ohm resistive antenna:
100 pFd from 3-4.7 MC
50 pFd from 4.7-11.5 MC
No series cap above that.

You can pay big money for doorknobs if you wish,
but I've purchased some from eastern Europe off Ebay
and had no problems with them.

Search
doorknob capacitor 100pf
doorknob capacitor 47pf
doorknob capacitor 50pf
  (Note no space before "pf")
You'll find high prices and low.
Check the person's feedback and be sure
to check shipping charges.
I've gotten good caps at good prices there.

Merry Christmas,
