Got it. I have seen that waveform, now that you mention it, and that would indeed
show the 'work' that the transformer was accomplishing.

labeled "xx volts @ yy amps" did seem to do about as well as the labels indicated.
Maybe that's because they were mil surplus or from the better parts makers, or I was
just lucky. I have learned el-cheapo transformer labels aren't to be trusted at all.
