"Gravity-Assisted Repair" has a long and honorable history,
especaily in the field of Military radio.

One tip on "ARC-5" receivers when the osc. won't run:
Mounted on the top and side of the tuning capacitor is
a plate with a fix cap and a small bandset variable.
The little variable is shock-sensitive, meaning it can
easily short from dropping the set (or un-short. :-).
