Gents:
While going through my "junque" I find several VLF Phase-tracking receivers.
Three Tracor 599s of various vintages (one of which is labeled
R-1086/URR), and one labeled RMS Engineering Phase-tracking Receiver
Model 1312.
I have a manual for the Tracor 599J, which seems to cover most of what I
have here.
I do not have a manual for the RMS Engineering job, although I did find a
Canadian report describing that receiver in a rather unflattering way.
Although it is 1/2 the height of the Tracor models, it weighs almost as much,
and despite having a digital readout, it was described in the Canadian paper
as being very poorly constructed, having double the number of parts as the
Tracors, and having burnt out (!?) while it was being tested in their lab before
it was ever moved aboard ship.
Anyway, I am wondering if there might be someone who would be interested
in buying these boaranchors?
Otherwise, I'll part them out.
